THE STORY OF THE GAME

After their wins away to Le Havre and Stade de Reims, Papus Camara's players were back in the capital and at Saint-Germain-en-Laye's Stade Georges Lefèvre today to face Amiens SC, a direct competitor in the race for the top three. The aim was clear: to clinch a third straight win to maintain their lead over their opponents for the day.

Les Rouge et Bleu wasted little time in opening the scoring, as Romaric Etonde grabbed the first goal of the game in the fifth minute, having been played in by a perfectly-timed pass from Yoram Zague. Following a 21st-minute equaliser for the visitors through George Ilenikhena, Les Titis stepped on the accelerator to force the hand of fate, and after Zague hit the post, their efforts paid off when they retook the lead a few minutes before the break, as Etonde turned from goalscorer to assist provider for Ismaël Gharbi. Game management, togetherness and determination – Les Parisiens had all the ingredients needed for success, and Etonde made the most of it to reaffirm his scintillating form by contributing to a third goal, this time assisting Serif Nagha for what would be the final one of the encounter.

In the end, it was mission accomplished for Paris, with the capital club consolidating their third-place position in Group A with 40 points from 20 games. Results elsewhere today also went the way of Les Rouge et Bleu, who sit five points ahead of Amiens and move to within three points of second-placed Montfermeil, thanks in large part to their goalless draw with Le Havre.
