The squad gets back to work
The Parisians returned to training this Sunday afternoon on the pitches at the Ooredoo centre. It was Mauricio Pochettino’s first training session and he took the chance to meet his players before looking forward to the challenges ahead.
It was a troublesome festive period with a pandemic and varying sanitary rules in each country. That period did enable some people to meet up to start 2021 with more hope and better days. And we all hope that’s the case!
It was the same story for the Paris Saint-Germain players who were back in training gear for a session this afternoon. A different kind of session of course for the new Rouge et Bleu manager Mauricio Pochettino on January 2 as he met up with his men for the first time today.
The Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi was at the Ooredoo centre to give his best wishes to all the players and staff before introducing Mauricio Pochettino to the squad.
It’s now the beginning of a new era at Paris Saint-Germain as ex-player Mauricio Pochettino will know better than anyone the passion of the rouge et bleu jersey. And Saint-Etienne will be his first challenge! The new Paris-Saint Germain manager will be on the bench in an icy Stade Geoffroy-Guichard just a few days after his arrival in matchday 18 of Ligue 1.
They had little time to prepare but the Parisians are used to this kind of pressure that they’ve been dealing with all season. It’s now up to Pochettino to find the answer and maybe already on Wednesday show his philosophy with the Rouge et Bleu.
