The show goes on!

The Background:
Wednesday's match in hand against Montpellier was something of a bonus for Paris Saint-Germain who had the chance to put another three points between themselves and second-placed Lille. After ASSE, Les Parisiens faced another pretender for a European place: Montpellier, unbeaten in their last six Ligue 1 matches, the fourth-best away side in the division, but one that hadn't scored at the Parc in Ligue 1 in seven years!

Highlights:
It's impossible to get used to these stunning victories!
The first to shine at the Parc des Princes were the goalkeepers as Buffon denied Skuletic (8') and Lecomte saved from Di Maria (12'). Layvin Kurzawa then signed his return to the starting XI with his first goal of the season (1-0, 13')! Gigi then produced another great save to keep out Mollet (22') and Di Maria raced clear, only for Lecomte to produce another great stop (26'). Montpellier then hit back when Mollet's free-kick squeezed across the line before being punched cleared by Buffon (1-1, 31'). It was a nice free-kick... but nothing in comparison to the one that fired Paris back in front: a veritable chef d'oeuvre from Angel Di Maria. From fully 25m out, the Argentine found the top corner as the ball crashed in off the underside of the bar (2-1, 45+1')! Di Maria has now been directly involved in five goals in his last five Ligue 1 appearances!

The game then exploded into life in the second half. Paris Saint-Germain saw two goals in two minutes ruled out for off-side (Mbappé 69', Choupo-Moting 71'). But then, in just six minutes and three seconds, Les Parisiens tore the game apart... with three goals! Nkunku headed home with the help of a deflection (3-1, 73'), then, under pressure from Mbappé, Hilton scored into his own goal (4-1, 78'), before Kylian got his name on the scoresheet (5-1, 79') as Paris extended their 100% record at home this season to 13 wins from 13... and now count a 15-point lead over Lille!

A man in the match: Layvin Kurzawa
Layvin clearly wanted to make his mark. It took just 13 minutes into his first Ligue 1 start of the season for the France international to net his first goal with a clinical header from Dani Alves' perfect cross. His last goal came back in January 2018, and back then, it was Dani the provider!

The word: Free-kick(s)
A rarity in our Ligue 1: Mollet and then Di Maria both scored with free-kicks, just 15 minutes apart in the first half. It's the first time that both sides scored free-kick in the same match since August 2017!

Coming up:
Just three days after MHSC, it's their neighbours Nimes that visit the Parc des Princes this Saturday at 17:00 CET in Week 26 of Ligue 1. It's the first time the Crocodiles (10th in the standings) have come to the Parc in... 26 years. And they will be looking to become the first team to take a point from a visit to the Parc.
