The shops reopen in total security
After two months of closure because of the health measures put into place by the French government as part of the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, the Paris club shops were finally authorised to reopen their doors on Wednesday May 20. Major precautions were taken in order to ensure protection of the fans and employees.
The Paris Saint-Germain shops opened again on Wednesday May 20. They closed on March 16 at the demand of the French authorities.
"After mobilising and training up the shop employees in order to best adapt to the constraints linked to social distancing and the health measures, we're particularly happy to see all our fans again, in the best conditions possible, given the new norms," said Fabien Allègre, the Chief brand diversification officer of the club.
In the new environment, numerous measures have been adopted by Paris Saint-Germain in order to ensure the security of everybody; employees, fans and those who are simply curious:
- Training of teams on the process and health measures
- Creation of new routes (with the furniture moved around, floor markings)
- Supplies of sanitary material (gel and masks for employees and visitors)
- Disinfection of the premises and clients
- The establishment of new sales protocols
- Development of innovative services
"Of course, the exceptional circumstances mean the shopping experience is different," carried on Fabien Allègre. "We have enjoyed fantastic support from our fans using our online shop with growth of 91% compared to last season just for the month of April and the current trend that is even superior to that. We think that the new format of the sales ceremony must be an opportunity for us to enhance our level of service by trying the 'drive in' for example."
Those who wish to do so can test the new drive-in service at the Paris Saint-Germain shops: simply call the shop of your choice, get the articles you want to purchase set to one side. Once the selection is ready, you simply need to go on site, pay and collect the articles without queuing. For the 5 days following the purchase the articles can be reimbursed. If you need a bigger or smaller size, exchanges can be made for free for 30 days. In each shop, a telephone line and an employee are dedicated to taking orders and personalising the process.
