The Parisians win and maintain fitness against QRM

Paris Saint-Germain won 3-1 against Quevilly Rouen Métropole in a friendly match on Wednesday 21 December 2022 at the training centre. The Parisians are keeping fit before returning to Ligue 1.

A few days after the 2-1 victory against Paris FC in a friendly, also at the training centre, the Rouge et Bleu were again hosting a Ligue 2 team, a week before the league resumes.

Christophe Galtier decided to field the same eleven as against the Parisians last Friday, with one exception: Gigio Donnarumma returning in goal in place of Sergio Rico.

The same defence, the same midfield trio and the same forward line, made up of Ekitike, Ilyes Housni and Ismaël Gharbi, and it is the latter who started the action. The young Parisian opens the score, calmly. After recovering the ball in the opposing camp, he eliminated the Normandy goalkeeper before finishing between the legs of a defender who had tracked back (1-0, 15').

The young Rouge et Bleu were in the limelight in this game, as Ilyes Housni doubled the lead on the half-hour mark, with a calm finish after a perfect cross by Nordi Mukiele, who had been played in on the right by Fabian Ruiz. (2-0, 30'). Housni even managed to score a second in the second half, twice beating Lemaître with his right foot to allow his team to extend their lead (3-0, 51').

After the hour mark, it was time for the Parisians to rotate and Christophe Galtier made several changes, as he did against PFC, giving playing time to several Paris Saint-Germain U19 players. QRM finally reduced the gap after a scramble in the Parisian area, after a corner from the left (3-1, 78'), but the fate of this match already seemed sealed.

The young Parisians had the task of preserving this victory at the end of the match, Gharbi almost scored a brace, following a pass from Zaire-Emery, who had come on a few moments earlier, but the opposing goalkeeper miraculously turned away the effort (87'). The scoreline remained unchanged, a second friendly victory for the Rouge et Bleu who will return to official competition and Ligue 1 in a week's time, when they welcome Strasbourg to the Parc des Princes, this Wednesday 28th December at 21:00.
