The Parisians arrive in Haifa

On the eve of their second European match of the season, the Paris Saint-Germain players left the capital for a trip to Israel. Here is a look back at the day.

It is in the capital that the day began, with the traditional group session at the training centre. The morning concluded with a press conference with coach Christophe Galtier and his captain Marquinhos.

The Parisians then headed to Israel the day before the second matchday of the UEFA Champions League group stage. Not long after after taking off their boots, Christophe Galtier and his players left their training base for a trip to Haifa, where they will face Maccabi on Wednesday evening.

A four and a half hour flight separated the French capital from Tel Aviv where the Parisians landed, 120 kilometres south of Haifa. The Parisians took advantage of this time to recuperate or simply to play games, during which competitiveness quickly took over.

The night had already fallen in Israel when the Red and Blue were welcomed by a crowd of fans outside their hotel. The match is expected to be a big draw at the Sammy-Ofer Stadium, where 30,000 fans are expected to be present at kick-off at 9pm Paris time.
