The Paris Saint-Germain advent calendar - 1 for...

With December starting today and Christmas fast approaching, here on PSG.FR, we’ll be taking you through a key stat about Paris Saint-Germain’s year every day until the 25th. Here’s what’s behind door no. 1.

1 for... a 1st historic win

With their 2-1 win at Juventus Stadium on Matchday 6 of this season's UEFA Champions League group stage, Paris Saint-Germain became the first French team to win away to the Turin-based side.

From a move started by Leo Messi, it was Kylian Mbappé who got away from the Juve defence by cutting inside before curling a superb strike into the net to open the scoring. After the home side equalised through their captain, Leonardo Bonucci, substitute Nuno Mendes gave Les Parisiens the win with an unstoppable shot across goal from his very first touch of the ball.

Looking back at previous Champions League campaigns, AS Monaco lost 2-1 away to La Vecchia Signora in 2017, whilst Olympique Lyonnais had only come away with a 1-1 draw a year earlier, making it a historic first win both for French football and for Paris.

It's worth noting that the capital club also got their group stage off to a flyer by beating I Bianconeri 2-1 at the Parc des Princes thanks to an Mbappé brace!
