As Christmas approaches, PSG.FR takes this opportunity to look back at one of Paris Saint-Germain's most important numbers from this year. Day 20.

20 like... the 20th Classique played by Marco Verratti against Olympique de marseille

On 16 October, Marco Verratti and Paris Saint-Germain won the Classique against Olympique de Marseille at the Parc des Princes (1-0). The match was the 20th time the Parisian midfielder has played against the Olympians since arriving in the capital, making him the most capped Rouge et Bleu player in this match.

Marco Verratti played his first Classique on 7 October 2012 at the Stade Velodrome on Matchday 8 (2-2). Ten years later, the Italian international became the most capped outfield player in the history of the Classique. He is now ahead of Sylvain Armand and his current team-mate Marquinhos, who have each made 18 appearances against the Phocéens.

So far, the emblematic Parisian midfielder has an exceptional record of 15 wins, 4 draws and only 1 defeat against Marseille. During these matches, Marco Verratti has been decisive on three occasions. On 26 February 2017, the Parisian provided an assist to Blaise Matuidi in a stunning win at the Velodrome stadium (1-5).

On 27 October 2019, he repeated the feat by providing an assist to Mauro Icardi in a scintillating 4-0 victory for Paris at the Parc des Princes. Finally, on 17 April this year, the Rouge et Bleu midfielder allowed Paris to open the scoring on their own turf by delivering an assist for Neymar Jr in another Parisian victory (2-1).
