In netting three times against Red Star Belgrade (6-1, 03/10/2018), Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar Jr has become the third player to score a hat-trick in the UEFA Champions League for Les Rouge et Bleu. Before him, only Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who scored four vs Anderlecht (5-0, 23/10/2013), and Layvin Kurzawa who netted three, also against RSCA (5-0, 31/10/2017) achieved such a feat.

Since the start of the season, Paris Saint-Germain have scored 44 goals in 12 official matches (Ligue 1, UEFA Champions League, Trophée des Champions), at an average of 3.67 goals per game! The capital club have scored 32 goals in Ligue 1, the highest toal after nine matches since 1969-70 (Saint-Étienne, 34 goals). Thomas Tuchel's side have also scored at least three times in each of their nine league outings - another first for French football!

Paris Saint-Germain turned on the style with a resolutely attacking display against Red Star Belgrade (6-1, 03/10/2018). Only twice previously has the capital club done at least as well in the UEFA Champions League: vs Rosenborg (7-2, 24/10/2000) and vs Celtic (7-1, 22/11/2017). Paris Saint-Germain have scored in their last 18 consecutive matches in the competition - the best current record.

Last weekend's 5-0 victory over Lyon (07/10/2018), saw Paris Saint-Germain become the first team in the history of the French first division to win their first nine matches of the Ligue 1 season. The previous record of eight straight wins was set by Olympique Lillois back in 1936-37. In Europe's top 5 leagues, only Tottenham, 11 wins (1960-61), and Manchester United (1985-86), AS Rome (2013-14) and Bayern Munich (2015-16), have done better…
