Stats & Facts: A look at the numbers from the win over Saint-Etienne

Match in numbers

Take a look at the stats and key figures from Les Parisiens’ 3-1 victory over AS Saint-Etienne on Saturday 26 February 2022 at the Parc des Princes on Matchday 26 of Ligue 1.

KYLIAN, what a delight!

Against Saint-Etienne, the Paris Saint-Germain forward equaled the number of goal scored by Zlatan Ibrahimovic (156) in Rouge et Bleu. In doing so, he becomes the joint-second top scorer in the club from the capital’s history books, behind Edinson Cavani (200).

Kylian is enjoying his football this season! He is the first player to have scored at least 10 goals and made 10 assists in Ligue 1 this campaign (14 and 10). This includes the marvelous cross with the outside of his right boot against ASSE, which allowed Danilo Pereira to score his fourth goal in his last three Ligue 1 matches. That’s one more than in his first 36 appearances in the league. Only Kylian Mbappé (5) has scored more league goals than the Portuguese midfielder in 2022 for Paris Saint-Germain.

MESSI, an assist machine!

Extremely evident against Saint-Etienne, the connection between Messi-Mbappé continues to grow. Leo has now picked up four assists for Kylian’s goals in Ligue 1 this season, which is the highest total for one player for the same teammate. The duo have five assists between them for each other (1 assist from Mbappé for Messi) in the top-flight during the 2021-22 campaign, which is another record so far this season between two players.

Paris Saint-Germain’s number 30 has also picked up the most assists in the top five European leagues in 2022 (6 assists). He has made at least one goal during each of his five league appearances this calendar year. He is the first player to reach 200 assists in the top five leagues since Opta began collecting data for each of the five leagues (2006-07).

PARIS - SAINTÉ: THE STORY CONTINUES

It was Paris’ 26th consecutive match without defeat against Saint-Etienne (20 wins, 6 draws across all competitions). It’s the longest unbeaten run against the same team in the club’s history (26 against Angers, ongoing since December 1976).

Paris have won 5 of their last 6 matches, a feat that allows them to keep the chasing pack at a distance, with a 16 point gap ahead of the matches on Sunday.

The club from the capital won their sixth Ligue 1 match this season after having conceded the opener. That’s a club record in the top-flight over any given season.
