Stats & Facts: Reims - Paris Saint-Germain

Match in numbers

Take a look at the top numbers to come out of Sunday's Ligue 1 win in Reims.

STUNNING START

Paris have made a flawless start! That's four wins from four to start the league season to be top of the table come the first international break of 2021/22.

It's only the sixth time in the Club's history they have achieved such a feat after 1985/86, 1992/93, 2015/16, 2017/18 and 2018/19.

The Parisians are unbeaten in 11 away games since the start of 2021, their best run since February 2018!

attaCK ON FIRE

The capital club has scored 12 times in four league matches with Neymar Jr, Kylian Mbappé and Angel Di Maria standing out against Reims!

Kylian Mbappé scored twice and has now had a hand in a goal in each of his last nine league games (10 goals, 3 assists). After his strike against Brest, the FIFA World Cup winner has now scored two of his last three league goals with his head, that's as many as in his 105 previous top-flight strikes.

The Club's all-time leading goalmaker, Di Maria, added another to his tally by setting Mbappé on course to open the scoring making it five times in his last eight assists he has provided the pass for the France forward to score. El Fideo had registered the first of his 106 assists for the club six years ago to the day on his debut against Monaco.

Achraf Hakimi added his second assist in as many games for Mbappé. The summer signing from Inter Milan is picking up where he left off last season when he set up 10 league goals, a tally bettered only by Borna Sosa (12) among defenders across Europe's top five leagues.

AN EVENING OF FIRSTS

How could we not mention the debut of Leo Messi for his new club after 22 years at Barcelona? After coming off the bench with 25 minutes left, every touch of the ball from Paris' new number 30 drew gasps from the crowd and made this Ligue 1 Matchday 4 all the more memorable.

Messi's Parisian premiere was the main reason the game was shown in over 200 countries by 52 broadcasters, all keen to relay the six-time Ballon d'Or winner's first steps in Rouge-et-Bleu to the world.
