The Neymar-Mbappé partnership

Two goals for one, two assists and a goal for the other, the partnership between the two forwards was instrumental for Parisian victory last night.  The Neymar-Mbappé duo have set each other up for a goal 23 times in Ligue 1 since the summer of 2017, at least six more than any other duo in the top flight.

Big  performance for Neymar Jr

The Brazilian struck again against his favourite victim in Ligue 1, finding the net twice. Since his arrival in France, Bordeaux are the team against which he has scored the most goals in the top flight (7). The Brazilian scored his first Ligue 1 brace, excluding penalties, since 2nd October 2020 against Angers.

The Brazilian striker dedicated his two goals to his friend and Brazilian singer Marília Mendonça, who died in a plane crash on Friday evening.

Paris are Bordeaux's bogey team

With this latest victory in Bordeaux, Paris has overtaken the Girondins in the number of victories in Ligue 1 matches (36 wins to 35). The Parisians are still unbeaten at the Matmut Atlantique, which opened on 18th May 2015, with seven wins and two draws in nine games. The capital club maintain a series of 14 official matches without defeat against Bordeaux (10 wins and 4 draws).

Mbappé, ligue 1's top assist maker

Thanks to his two assists for Neymar Jr, the Parisian number 7 now has 6 assists in the league and is now tied with Lens' Jonathan Clauss as the best assist maker in Ligue 1.

Kylian Mbappé was involved in three goals in the same Ligue 1 match for the second time in 2021 after game against Montpellier on 22nd January (2 goals, 1 assist).

Big lead at the top for Paris

The win in Bordeaux allows the Parisians to get back to winning ways away from home, after having not been able to win or score away from home for the last two matches (defeat in Rennes 0-2, on 03/10/201, draw in Marseille 0-0, on 24/10/2021).

With this 11th victory in thirteen games, the Parisians continue their excellent start to the season and are now on 34 points, 10 points ahead of runner-up Lens who have 24 points.
