Stats & Facts: A look back at the win in Lorient

Match in numbers

Find out all the key facts and figures from Parisians' 4-1 win at Lorient on Wednesday 24th April 2024 on Ligue 1 match day 29.

VOYAGE VOYAGE!

On Wednesday, Paris broke a record for the number of consecutive Ligue 1 matches away from home without defeat (22 now, compared with 21 for Lyon between March 2005 and April 2006). It was another impressive performance for the Rouge et Bleu, who are now within touching distance of their 12th French league title in their history.

Paris could officially lift the Hexagoal if they beat Le Havre on Saturday. Victory would seal the 2023-2024 championship, regardless of Monaco's result against Lyon on Sunday.

THE PERFECT SEASON

Paris Saint-Germain have become the 6th team in Ligue 1 history to record just one defeat (or less) after their opening 30 matches of the season. The Parisians follow in the footsteps of St Etienne (1969-70), Nantes (1994-95, 0 defeats) and... themselves (2013-14, 2015-16 and 2018-19).

Paris have also picked up 35 points out of a possible 45 in 15 matches against teams in Ligue 1's bottom half, with only Brest (39) doing better this season.

MBAPPÉ and DEMBÉLÉ stand out

Dancing to the rhythm of the cornemuses of Moustoir, Ousmane Dembélé and Kylian Mbappé put in a great performance on Wednesday evening.

Mbappé scored his 189th and 190th Ligue 1 goals, making the Paris striker the seventh-highest scorer in the league's history, on a par with Joseph Ujlaki (190 goals between 1948 and 1964). He also scored his 42nd and 43rd goals for his club this season in all competitions, his best season in this respect (42 in 2020-21).

Ousmane, for his part, scored his first brace for Paris Saint-Germain, and has found the net in his last three matches, a feat he has not achieved since 2018. There's no doubt about it, Ousmane is in top form!
