Stats & Facts: A look back at the numbers from the win against Brest!

Match in numbers

From the unbeaten home record to the full-backs’ form, from Verratti's performance to Mbappé's stats, take a look at the key numbers from Paris Saint-Germain's victory over Brest (2-0 ), in the first game of the year at the Parc des Princes!

Paris still invincible at the Parc

Although the Parc des Princes was unfortunately a bit empty on Saturday night, the Parisians were keen to continue their unbeaten run at home. And they succeeded in doing so, as the club from the capital won their first match of the year at the Parc des Princes (2-0) against Brest. Undefeated in their last 14 home games in all competitions, Paris are also the team that has played the most home games in the 5 major European leagues this season without losing a single one (10 games - 8 wins, 2 draws).

And the Rouge et Bleu like tradition... And they kept that tradition. They are now on a 12-match unbeaten streak in Ligue 1 at the Parc des Princes!

impactful full backs

2022 is off to a flying start for our full-backs! On the right, it was the German Thilo Kehrer who scored his second in two Ligue 1 matches, after scoring his side's equaliser last week at Lyon (1-1).

Nuno Mendes was also impressive on the left, as he did brilliantly down the left flank to set up Thilo Kehrer to give Parisians the lead. The Portuguese international's second assist of the year, after his perfectly weighted corner that allowed Kimpembe to open the scoring with a header against Vannes in the Coupe de France.

Kylian Mbappé once more scores at home

The French international, who scored the opening goal for his side, has continued his fine run of form with five goals in his last three home games (Bruges, Monaco and Brest). The Rouge et Bleu's No7 has now reached 70 goals in competitive matches at the Parc des Princes, becoming only the fifth player in the history of the club to do so, after Dominique Rocheteau (73 goals), Pedro Miguel Pauleta (78), Zlatan Ibrahimovic (85) and Edinson Cavani (110).

Paris - BREST never disappoints

Paris love playing their opponents from Brittany, and the statistics don't lie. In fact, the Parisian club has not lost any of its last 23 matches against Brest and has not been beaten by them since 26 January 1985 (1-3 in Brittany in the league). This record is even more impressive at the Parc des Princes, where Brest have only won once in their history, on 12 September 1982 (1-2) in the league.

special mention for the Maestro

Marco Verratti was in the thick of things on Saturday night, bringing the heat to a chilly Parc des Princes with his usual grace on the ball. But the Italian virtuoso also loves touching the ball on the pitch. In fact, the 129 balls he touched against Brest is his record for the season.

He made more passes (109) and tackles (3) than any other player on the pitch. As for the rest, his stats are unquestionable: 94% successful passes, 3 key passes, 9 balls won, 6 duels won, 3 successful tackles, 2 successful dribbles... And he even had a shot where he hit the post!
