Squad (almost) complete!
The Paris Saint-Germain players that took part in the Copa América (apart from Edinson Cavani, already present) and the Africa Cup of Nations arrived in Shenzhen on Wednesday.
Winners of the Copa América with Brazil, Thiago Silva and Marquinhos arrived in Shenzhen on Wednesday morning, as did Argentinians Leandro Paredes and Angel Di Maria, third in the competition, and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting who took part in the AFCON with Cameroon.
Touching down in Hong Kong at around 8:30am, Thiago Silva, Paredes, Di Maria and Choupo-Moting arrived in Shenzhen by car, and taking their breakfast at the team hotel. The Brazil international happy to be back after an historic summer: "The holidays were fantastic after that win in the final in the Maracana," explained the Paris skipper. "Now I can't wait to get back to work with the rest of the squad to start the new season."
By late morning, Marquinhos marked his return to Les Rouge et Bleu, before enjoying lunch in the company of the other new faces, as well as Presnel Kimpembe and Neymar Jr, already in Shenzhen. After lunch, Marqui and Angel took part in a Meet & Greet event in the hotel.
Thiago Silva, Marquinhos, Leandro Paredes, Angel Di Maria and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, joined Presnel Kimpembe and Neymar Jr as well as Alphonse Areola, Marcin Bulka and Marco Verratti to the training pitch. Despite torrential rain throughout the afternoon and evening, the Rouge et Bleu stars warmed on training bikes before hitting the pitch for a series of rondos and passing exercises. The only squad member now absent from China is the lastest signing Idrissa Gueye, finalist of the AFCON with Senegal who is still on holidays.
