Sergio Rico: 'A goal and pride'

Sergio Rico is likely to keep goal for Sunday's Coupe de France tie at Lorient - he told PSG.TV about his first months at the club.

Sergio, how are things going for you here?
"I think Paris Saint-Germain is one of the best teams in the world, and for me, being here and being able to learn from these great players, is a new challenge. It's a goal and a source of pride at the same time. To be here and be able to share the dressing room with these great players. At the end of the day, every footballer wants to improve each day and continue growing as an athlete and as a person."

You are sharing playing time with Keylor Navas. How is that situation for you as it's something you're not used to?
"As you said, it's a new situation for me, but I think every footballer has to adapt to different situations. There's a learning process, and I think there's nothing that isn't beneficial in football. You have to learn every minute, from every situation. I think this year is very productive for me, and I'm learning from great players. I'm lucky to be able to train with Keylor every day. It's an honour for me to be with them all."

We imagine you learn from each other...
"We talk all the time, because each of us has a different point of view. Perhaps he has different qualities to me, and I think that we have found a balance between his qualities and mine. I think that will make us better, him and me."

How would you sum up your first six months in Paris?
"I think it's very positive. Every time I've had the chance to play, I've felt very good, and I've been very well welcomed by the fans and I appreciate that a lot. I thank them for their support. I'm really very happy. I think that, for the moment, my stay here is very positive and I hope it'll continue like that."
