See you at the Parc!

Used to causing the league's big teams a problem at the Beaujoire (Marseille and then Lyon, just five days ago, have both found that out this season), Nantes kept true to form. Paris Saint-Germain were without nearly a dozen first-team regulars, including Kylian Mbappé, and Les Canaris took full advantage to bring to an end a run of 14 successive defeats in L1 to the Rouge-et-Bleu.

Gianluigi Buffon was the first Parisian to stand out with a magnificent reflex save from Kalifa Coulibaly (12') before stopping Nicolas Pallois' header (16'). Dani Alves then stole the limelight, sending a missile of a shot beyond Maxime Dupé from 30 metres to put the visitors ahead and open his Ligue 1 account for the season (0-1, 19').

Unfortunately, the Nantes reaction did not take long and it also had a Brazilian flavour as Diego Carlos headed home from a corner (1-1, 22'). Moussa Diaby might have restored Paris' lead but was stopped by Edgar Ié (35') and then Dupé (39') before Majeed Waris seized the initiative for the hosts (2-1, 44').

Guclu's debut goal

After the restart, a spot of pinball in the Paris penalty box ended with Diego Carlos making it three (3-1, 52'). Like at Lille on Sunday, the league's best defence had been breached, and Coulibaly came close to number four, shooting just wide from 40 metres with Buffon out of his goal (58').

Buffon did get in the way of a Waris effort (68') and then pushed away a Pallois piledriver (74') while Dupé at the opposite end stopped a Layvin Kurzawa header (70') and turned an Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting effort onto a post (78').

There was a happy ending to a disappointing night with Metehan Guclu pulling one back some 15 minutes after coming off the bench to make his L1 debut (3-2, 90'). Now, for an eighth league title in the club's history, all eyes will be on the Parc des Princes on Sunday when Monaco arrive in the capital.
