In the 5-0 face over Celtic at Celtic Park on 12 September, Paris Saint-Germain equalled the club record for biggest Champions league away win. Before this big win, Paris Saint-Germain had twice won by the same scoreline in the competition: against Anderlecht on 23 October 2013 and against Malmö on 25 November 2015. Celtic had never before conceded such a big defeat at home in all their history in Europe.

At the UNFP Trophies ceremony, Neymar Jr was named the UNFP Ligue 1 Conforama Player of the Season. In scoring 40 goals in 48 matches on all competitions (28 in Ligue 1, 3 in the Coupe de France, 2 in the Coupe de la Ligue and 7 in the UEFA Champions League), Edinson Cavani reached this symbolic benchmark for the second season in a row, having notched 49 goals in 50 official matches in season 2016-2017 (35 in Ligue 1, 2 in the Coupe de France, 4 in the Coupe de la Ligue and 8 in the UEFA Champions League). Before El Matador, only Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who scored 41 goals in 46 matches in 2013-2014 (26 in Ligue 1, 3 in the Coupe de France, 2 in the Coupe de la Ligue and 10 in the UEFA Champions League) and 50 goals in 51 matches in 2015-2016 (38 in Ligue 1, 7 in the Coupe de France, 5 in the UEFA Champions League) had achieved this feat with Paris Saint-Germain.

In the 2-2 draw with Guingamp at the Parc des Princes on 17 April, Thiago Silva wore the captain's armband for the 221st time, thus becoming the club's all-time most-capped player, one clear of Jean-Marc Pilorget. O Monstro has since added anpother match as captain to his pedigree, taking the record to 222 official matches as club captain.
