RB Leipzig vs Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-final

Paris Saint-Germain will face RB Leipzig in the semi-final of the Champions League.

Paris Saint-Germain will play against Leipzig in the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday 18 August at 21:00 (in France, 20:00 in Portugal).

As a reminder, the club from the capital qualified for the quarter finals, after topping their Group A with 16 points, ahead of Real Madrid (11 points), Club Bruges (3 points) and Galatasaray (2 points), and then defeated Dortmund in the Round of 16 (1-2, 2-0) and Atalanta in the quarter finals after an impressive late turnaround (1-2).

Former Rouge et Bleu, Christopher Nkunku's club (78 matches and 11 goals between 2015-2019), who finished in third place this season, secured their place in the semi-finals after finishing in first place of Group G with 11 points, ahead of Lyon (8 points), Benfica and Zenit (7 points), then beat Tottenham in the Round of 16 (1-0, 3-0)  and Atlético Madrid in the quarter finals after a very tight match (2-1).

Les Parisiens and the German side have never faced each other in a competitive match. The clubs have crossed paths in a friendly, however, in a match that ended in a 4-2 win for Leipzig on 18 July 2014 at the Red Bull Arena.

Paris will head back out onto the pitch of the Estádio da Luz for the game, at the same stadium in which they completed their dramatic  comeback against Atalanta on Wednesday evening.
