Aston Villa v. Paris: In the Lions' den
On the eve of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final second leg against Aston Villa, on Tuesday 15 April at Villa Park (21:00), we take a closer look at the trip awaiting our Parisians in Birmingham. From recent results to the first leg and current form, here’s an overview of the decisive clash that awaits our Rouge et Bleu against the Lions.
The Villains GOT BACK to WINNING WAYS
After a first-leg clash against the Parisians that ended in favour of the Rouge et Bleu last Wednesday at the Parc des Princes (3–1), Aston Villa returned to action this weekend with a Premier League fixture away to Southampton. Despite the fatigue from their trip to the capital just three days earlier, Unai Emery’s men managed to make the difference in the final twenty minutes of the match. Ollie Watkins, Donyell Malen and captain John McGinn each found the net to secure a valuable win for Villa in the race for the top five. For this game, Pau Torres, Axel Disasi and Lucas Digne were rested, while Boubacar Kamara and John McGinn came on late in the match.
