Kimpembe: 'Have a great season, all together'

Paris Saint-Germain begins its Ligue 1 season this weekend away to promoted Troyes and defender Presnel Kimpembe spoke to PSG.TV about the start of the new campaign.

PRESNEL, HOW DO YOU FEEL AT THE BEGINNING OF THIS NEW SEASON?

"I feel good. It's the beginning of the new season, so we have to work hard physically. For the moment, it's all going well. I feel good. Paris Saint-Germain is my club. It's the club where I grew up. It's where I learned everything, where I earned my stripes... So obviously, the fact that I can continue to work here is really strong, and it's always a pleasure."

THERE WAS DISAPPOINTMENT AT THE CHAMPIONS TROPHY...

"It hurts because there was a trophy at stake. It was a final and we are competitors, we want to bring the trophy home. But we'll stay positive. It's the beginning of the season and it's also part of preseason. We will give our best to bounce back in the championship and the trip to Troyes."

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THIS FIRST MATCH AWAY TO TROYES?

"We saw last season that the start of the championship was complicated. We lost a lot of points stupidly. Against Troyes, we know what to expect. They're not going to do us any favours and they're back from Ligue 2, they were second division champions... We know that they will want to play well against us. We need to get off to a good start."

WE COULD HAVE THE FANS BACK THIS SEASON, IS THAT IMPORTANT FOR YOU?

"For me, it will make all the difference. They are the twelfth man and given how important they are to us, last season was not easy. We felt that the absence of the supporters weighed on us when we were a bit down. You hear the voice of the supporters, the chants, the shouts and obviously that pushes you on. I hope that they will come back soon and that we will be able to have a great season together."
