Playing like champions!

The match:
Just before kick-off, Paris Saint-Germain joined AS Monaco with eight Ligue 1 titles, and they celebrated in style with a spectacular display.

The Easter goal hunt was led by a certain Kylian Mbappé who played a fantastic one-two with Moussa Diaby to open the scoring with a stunning goal on the counterattack (1-0, 15')! The France international stayed calm after netting against his former club, but the capital club maintained the pressure on their opponents and Mbappé got his second after an exchange of passes with Dani Alves (2-0, 37')! ASM had two chances to Rony Lopes (7') and Gelson Martins (44'), denied both times by Alphonse Areola as Paris led 2-0 at the break.

Neymar Jr came on at the start of the second half (46'), after three months on the sidelines. But it was Mbappé that was in irrepressible form, hitting the post (52'), before completing his hat-trick from another Dani Alves assist (3-0, 56')! The good news kept coming as Edinson Cavani was introduced off the bench (73'), before some bad news as Marco Verratti (76') and Thilo Kehrer (89') both went off injured and Golovin netted a consolation goal for Monaco (3-1, 80')... 

A man in the match: Kylian Mbappé
For the third time this season, Kylian Mbappé netted a Ligue 1 hat-trick, becoming, at 20 years of age, the youngest ever player to score 30 goals in a Ligue 1 season and the first Frenchman to reach the mark since Jean-Pierre Papin in 1990. 

The word: Comeback(s)
Marquinhos returned to the starting XI with the captain's armband, but Neymar Jr and Edi Cavani also caught the eye after a long time on the sidelines. One week before the Coupe de France final, Ney played an excellent 45 minutes and, like El Matador, he received a thunderous ovation as the MCN was reunited on the pitch!

On Saturday, Paris Saint-Germain travel to the north of the city looking for a fifth consecutive Coupe de France against Rennes, and a domestic treble (after the Trophée des Champions and L1). Just 49 years after the club was founded, Paris Saint-Germain will be aiming for a 40th trophy!
