Paris to face league runners-up in Trophée des Champions
The 2018 Trophée des Champions will pit Paris Saint-Germain, French champions and Coupe de France winners after Tuesday's 2-0 win over Les Herbiers, against the side that finishes second in Ligue 1.
Traditionally, the season curtain-raiser sees the Ligue 1 champions play the Coupe de France winners, but when the same team wins both competitions — as is the case this season — the rules state the league runners-up will participate in the game.
That means the capital club will face either Lyon (75 points), Monaco (74) or Marseille (73) at the Shenzhen Universiade Sports Center in China on 4 August.
