Paris snatch a draw at Lens!

At the end of a very intense match, Paris Saint-Germain levelled the score at the death against a good RC Lens team, in matchday 17 of Ligue 1 (1-1). A look back at the match.

It is in the cold of the North but also in the warm atmosphere of the Stade Bollaert-Delelis that the club from the capital played this Saturday evening. Mauricio Pochettino's objective was to get back to winning ways and continue to extend their lead at the top of the league. Without Neymar Jr and with Kylian Mbappé on the bench, it is a 100% Argentine attack that started the game.

Franck Haise's men, buoyed by their crowd, announced their intentions from the outset, imposing a crazy tempo on the Parisians. They were forced to play very deep and defend their half, hoping to seize every opportunity to counterattack. But it was the northerners who dominated the game, with Leo Messi hitting Leca's right-hand post after a pass from the Parisians (18'), who thought he had opened the scoring.

From a Jonathan Claus free-kick, Keylor Navas saved well and then made a spectacular save from a powerful Kakuta shot, as well as chances from Fofana, Doucouré and Kalimuendo, the Sang et Or forced the Costa Rican to make no less than five saves from the ten shots he faced in the first half-hour.

And although the Parisians tried to get back into the game, they were denied by two incredible saves by Jean-Louis Leca against Icardi (45') and Di Maria (46'). The Lensois, on the other hand did not miss their chance to score with Fofana shooting from distance to get the opener (1-0, 62').

It was difficult to change the balance of the game against a team that was determined to put pressure on until the end. But Pochettino's men didn't give up and were able to get a few chances. And it was a new signing who got the equaliser! Gini Wijnaldum managed to slam a header from a Mbappé cross into Leca's top right corner (1-1, 90+2').

The club from the capital snatched a draw at the end of a very intense match. And there is no time to think about it, as they face Brugge on Tuesday at the Parc des Princes in the final match of the Champions League group stage.
