Paris shine on the Côte d'Azur

Paris Saint-Germain made it back to back wins on Sunday with a 3-0 win away to Nice in Ligue 1.

Four days after their last-gasp home win over Metz (1-0), Les Parisiens headed to Allianz Riviera without seven players sidelined with injury or suspension, however coach Thomas Tuchel did welcome back Kylian Mbappé to the attack alongside Mauro Icardi.

And any doubts over the form of the France international were quickly dispelled as he created a host of chances (6', 11', 12', 24', 25'). After a dominant opening half hour, it was Paris' World Cup winner that won and converted the penalty that gave Les Rouge et Bleu the lead (0-1, 38').

Moments later, Ander Herrera hit the post with a volley (40'), before another Mbappé raid was saved by Nice 'keeper Walter Benitez, only for Angel Di Maria to slam home the rebound (0-2, 45+1').

There was more of the same early in the second half as Di Maria (56'), Icardi (59', and once off the post 63') and Mbappé (62') could all have added a third. In the end, that honour fell to Marquinhos, who glanced home Di Maria's free kick (0-3, 65'). And there could have been more as Mbappé went close to completing his brace (68', 72', 75').

Nice did have chances of their own however, each time they were denied by an inspired Keylor Navas who made four fine saves to deny Schneiderlin (19'), Atal (53'), Lees-Melou (60') and Gouiri (87').

Mission accomplished for Thomas Tuchel's men who have now won seven of their last eight matches against Nice and scored in each of the last 16! They now have a full week to prepare for next Sunday's trip to Stade de Reims.
