Paris settle in Shenzhen

Training sessions, meetings with the fans, interviews and partner activities, the Paris Saint-Germain squad had a busy first day in Shenzhen.

With the arrival of Neymar Jr earlier in the day, the squad began the working day in China with a session at the team hotel. After lunch, the players were divided into several small groups to take part in a number of club activities. Thiago Silva, Christopher Nkunku and Angel Di Maria met 80 local fans for a photo and autograph session. The supporters also got to have their photo taken with the four trophies won by the capital club last season.

Kevin Trapp, Marquinhos and Julian Draxler took a local cooking lesson, also in front of a number of fans. And once again, it finished with a autograph session and photos with the chef! A competition in Shenzhen saw two fans get the chance to meet Neymar Jr. The Brazil international gave them jerseys, scarves and tickets to the Trophée des Champions.

Maxwell headed to the training ground for a session with the Paris Saint-Germain Academy. Divided into three teams, the 30 young players had juggling, dribbling and shooting drills and had a big surprise with the PSG squad arrived at the pitch for training and posed for a photo. Maxwell then headed downtown to cheer on the Paris Saint-Germain eSports players DaXe and ManiiKa, who took on two professional players from Shanghai at FIFA Online. The contest was streamed live and watched by more than 500,000 people!

And after posing for a photo with the kids from the Paris Saint-Germain Academy, Thiago Silva and CO. then had training in temperatures hovering over 30°C and more than 80% humidity, at the training pitch of the Shenzhen Universiade Sports Center Stadium, where Paris will play Monaco in Saturday’s Trophée des Champions.
