Paris Saint-Germain vs Toulouse FC: The low down!

History, stats and facts... check out all you need to know to be trivia master ahead of tonight's game between Paris Saint-Germain and Toulouse!

A little history...

This will be the 72nd meeting between the two sides with the capital club having won 40 victoires, drawn 13 and lost just 18 of the previous 71!

19 players have played for both sides: Serge Aurier, Jack Bade, Gilles Brisson, François Calderaro, Bruno Carotti, Clément Chantôme, José Cobos, Omar Da Fonseca, Stéphane Dalmat, Nicolas Douchez, Claude Lowitz, Cédric Pardeilhan, Paulo Cesar, Adrien Rabiot, Christophe Revault, Pierre Reynaud, Dominique Rocheteau, Jean-Luc Sassus, Patrice Ségura.

With nine goals scored against Le TéFéCé, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is Paris' all-time top scorer against Les Violets. He's followed by Safet Susic (7 goals) and Javier Pastore and Dominique Rocheteau (5 goals).

It was after a 3-1 away victory over Toulouse that the capital topped the league ladder for the first time in the club's history on 26 July 1985.

On this day 48 years ago, Paris Saint-Germain recorded their first ever win in the French top flight, 3-2 over Nancy.

The stakes...

Les Parisiens will be looking to get back to winning ways after last weekend's 2-1 loss to Rennes. Thomas Tuchel can count on Kylian Mbappé, who could play his 100th Ligue 1 match (63 goals and 23 assist in 99 L1 matches), Marquinhos, who could become the 24th player to make 250 appearances for Paris Saint-Germain, and Idrissa Gueye, who could make his Rouge et Bleu debut at the Parc des Princes.

The keys to victory...

Paris Saint-Germain have won their last four consecutive matches against Toulouse, but they are often tight affairs with three of them coming by a goal to nil. Toulouse are the last team to have recorded a scoreless draw at the Parc des Princes back on 19 February 2017. Since then, fans at the Parc des Princes have seen a goal in the last 60 Ligue 1 matches at the Parc des Princes, with the capital club scoring in 59 of them, the only exception being a 2-0 loss to Rennes on 12 May 2018.
