Paris Saint-Germain unveil 2018-2019 home kit
The eternal bond between Paris Saint-Germain and the club’s devoted supporters is at the heart of their 2018-19 home kit.
Staying true to tradition, the new shirt bristles with the historic red and blue so cherished by the fans, who flock to the Parc Des Princes and create one of world football’s most famous atmospheres.
The deafening noise generated there on matchdays provided the creative spark for Nike’s designers, who ran the famous thick vertical red stripe through a speed filter, creating a visual effect similar to a soundwave.
This exciting graphic lights up an otherwise all blue jersey, creating a modern, exciting interpretation of one of the game’s most beautiful shirts.
That iconic red stripe also appears at the nape of the neck, encased in a white outline, while Parisian pride burns beneath the surface thanks to two discreet inner pride features.
The words "Ici c'est Paris" are bellowed out from the stands at every home game and are stitched inside the shirt alongside a fleur-de-lis, a traditional symbol borrowed from the French coat of arms.
The shorts are entirely blue, as are the socks, save for a horizontal red stripe outlined in white, ensuring the traditional colours of the club run head to toe. It’s a kit rich in PSG heritage and pleasing to both fans and players alike.
"Every time I enter the locker room, discovering my jersey with my name on the back is always a great source of pride," said midfielder Marco Verratti.
"And when I go out on the pitch, I feel the strength of the fans. They give us strength and push us to surpass ourselves."
