Paris Saint-Germain’s 2018-19 away kit pays homage to the city they represent

This week, Paris Saint-Germain unveiled its new away kit at exclusive fashion boutiques across the globe, with launches taking place at events at Singapore’s cult Dover Street Market store on Thursday and The Webster in Miami on Friday.

The club’s 2018-19 away kit signifies the potentially historic season that the team hopes to have, with the prospect of winning an eighth Ligue 1 title and a real chance to clinch their first UEFA Champions League trophy.

The light stone hue of the kit references the famous monuments found across the French capital, particularly the famous Arc de Triomphe. The latter is, of course, a rallying point for all Parisians - something Paris Saint-Germain has also become through its present-day triumphs.

“Anyone who has been to Paris will understand the beauty and power of its many monuments," said Pete Hoppins, Nike Football Apparel Senior Design Director. "This kit can become synonymous with a triumphant era for PSG and the memories that the current squad is creating.”

A club crest and Nike Swoosh, both in gold, embellish the new kit.

In a nod to French fashion, the shirt’s stylish v-neck fastens at the centre. At the nape of the neck, a small Fleur-de-Lis provides a reminder of Gallic pride and passion, while inside the shirt a small symbol pays tribute to the iconic Arc de Triomphe monument.

In addition to being available now on Nike.com and at psg.fr, the new Paris Saint-Germain away kit can be purchased at the exclusive Dover Street Market boutique in Singapore. The jersey was revealed today at the store during the club’s summer pre-season tour in Asia.

Furthermore, the Paris Saint-Germain’s women’s team will be present for the jersey launch at the hip Miami store The Webster this Friday evening. As well as the kit being launched there, Miami-based artist ABSTRK has created a limited-edition version of the jersey that will be available for purchase. The women’s team is currently in the United States for their pre-season tour where they are playing matches in Portland and Miami.
