Paris Saint-Germain receives warm welcome from fans in Doha

Exactly one month after the Qatar 2022 World Cup, the Paris Saint-Germain players are once again creating a sensation in Doha with the start of their winter tour on Wednesday 18 January. The reception the players received, particularly during the public training session at the Khalifa Stadium in front of nearly 30,000 ecstatic fans, once again illustrates the exceptional passion for the Club in Qatar.

Marquinhos, Paris Saint-Germain captain, told PSG TV: “We feel at home here in Qatar. We have been very well received and have the best conditions here. This warmth brought by our supporters will boost us for the rest of the season.”

This traditional trip is also an opportunity for the Club to touch base with its fans and partners: Qatar Airways, QNB, Ooredoo, Qatar Tourism, All and Aspetar.

On Wednesday the Paris Saint-Germain players spent a special morning visiting the partners and their guests with five exclusive events.

The Club's jersey and principal partner, Qatar Airways, gave employees and guests an unforgettable experience. The recently crowned world champion Leo Messi as well as Marquinhos, Achraf Hakimi, Sergio Ramos, Renato Sanches, Sergio Rico, Warren Zaïre-Emery and El Chadaille Bitshiabu took part in a signing session after a chat with guests.

These players then joined the VIP clients of Qatar National Bank (QNB), who were lucky enough to enjoy a special moment with the players and even some autographs.

Back in Qatar for the first time since winning the Golden Boot at the 2022 World Cup, Kylian Mbappé, accompanied by Carlos Soler, Keylor Navas, Ayman Kari and Alexandre Letellier, visited Ooredoo's offices to the delight of the employees and guests of the club’s telecoms partner.

For their part, members of the Accor group's ALL programme enjoyed a unique and fun experience thanks to Presnel Kimpembe, Ilyes Housni, Vitinha and Hugo Ekitike.

In addition to these special moments, Neymar Jr, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Fabián Ruiz, Juan Bernat and Timothée Pembélé took part in a local food tasting. This original experience, organised by Qatar Tourism with the presence of Qatari influencer Mohamad Adnan, can be found on Qatar Tourism and Paris Saint-Germain’s social media channels.

Finally Nuno Mendes, Danilo Pereira and Ismael Gharbi discovered the Aspetar clinic’s recovery centre. This was an opportunity to appreciate the uniqueness of this state-of-the-art sporting centre of excellence, which allows hundreds of sportsmen and women from all over the world to be treated in the best conditions by world experts per year.

At the end of the afternoon, the players trained at the famous Khalifa Stadium, where the huge number of attendees included all the participants of the PSG Academy in Qatar and guests of the club’s Qatari partners. The training session was also a chance for Paris Saint-Germain to unveil their new Fourth 22/23 collection to the fans, including the new training shirt worn for the first time. The session was also open to local and international media.

Tomorrow, Thursday 19 January, the Parisian players will travel to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to play a gala match at 6pm (8pm local time) at the King Fahd Stadium. They will face the Riyadh Season Team, a side featuring players from Al-Nassr and Al-Hilal.
