The Parisian Advent calendar - 24 like...
As Christmas approaches, PSG.FR takes this opportunity to look back at one of Paris Saint-Germain's most important numbers from this year. Day 24.
24 LIKE... A LEAGUE record!
You shouldn't have missed that since the start of the 2022-2023 season, Paris Saint-Germain haven't been facing opponents playing in the same universe, at least when considering their attacking statistics.
For this final day of our advent calendar, we have been able to unearth a surprising statistic: Did you know that the club from the capital scored 24 goals in their first 6 Ligue 1 matches?
In doing so, Paris equalled the record for the number of goals scored by a team in the top five European leagues after six matches in a season in the 21st century (24 also for Manchester City in 2019/20 and for Bayern Munich in 2020/21).
Since then, Paris have continued on the same wave and our Rouge et Bleu still have the best attack with an average of 2.8 goals scored per game, taking their total to 43 before the second part of the season.
But Les Parisiens also boast the individuals with the best records too, given that Kylian Mbappé is currently top scorer in Ligue 1, while his teammate Leo Messi has the most assists (10), and Neymar Jr has his place across both rankings, given that he is the player that has been directly involved in the most number of goals this campaign (20 – 11 goals, 9 assists). The Brazilian is the first player to have been directly involved in at least 20 goals in the first 15 matches of Ligue 1 since Opta began analysing the competition (2006/07).
