Paris put on a show against Les Verts!

After falling behind early on, Paris Saint-Germain managed to turn things around in order to convincingly come out on top in Matchday 26 of Ligue 1 (3 -1). A look back on the victory!

Eleven days after the epic victory in the first leg against Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain were back in action at home as they came up against Les Verts in a gala match between two of the most decorated clubs in French football. Coach Mauricio Pochettino didn't take the game lightly, starting with the attacking trio of Mbappé-Messi-Neymar Jr.

Determined to play their own game, our forwards quickly realised that they were going to have to beat a tenacious and very compact team. Following a tight start to the match, it was Les Verts who struck first. Bouanga won the ball back on the edge of the box, before beating Gigio Donnarumma with a powerful strike into the back of the net (0-1, 16').

Despite the early set-back, our Parisians weren't going to be discouraged, and quickly stepped up a gear to get back on level terms. Kylian Mbappé didn't take long to bombard Bernardoni's box, constantly looking to find the equaliser. After being frustrated time and time again, he finally managed to make the breakthrough! Leo Messi found the Frenchman was a marvellous diagonal ball, and the World Champion struck into the back of the net to the delight of the Parc des Princes (1-1, 42'). A sigh of relief ahead of the half-time break.

In order to add balance to the encounter - and the Paris team - Pochettino sent on Angel Di Maria to occupy the right wing. But it was to be the Messi - Mbappé duo once again that proved decisive! Taking full advantage of another delightful ball from the Argentine, the Frenchman buried the ball into the back of the net with a clinical finish! (2-1, 47'). A magical goal to make history, with the goal allowing Mbappé to equal Zlatan Ibrahimovic's goalscoring tally for the club (156 in total) to take joint-second place in the club's all-time goal-scorers behind Edinson Cavani.

After securing the brace, it was time for the forward to turn provider, as he crossed perfectly to the back-post where Danilo popped up to head home (3-1, 52'). In an open match, a valiant team of Stéphanois continued to attack, but Gigio Donnarumma kept a careful eye on proceedings (67').

Mauricio Pochettino's side continued to attack, inspired by the technical ability on show. Angel Di Maria, Neymar Jr and Gini Wijnaldum all hit the woodwork, and the Mbappé-Messi duo continued to shine. A win secured with character and style. In doing so, Paris strengthen their position in first place, ahead of their trip to Nice next weekend for another tantalising Ligue 1 encounter.
