Paris keep the pressure on against Lens!

Paris Saint-Germain were victorious against the Racing Club de Lens at the Parc des Princes in matchday 35 of Ligue 1 (2-1). Take a look at how this crucial game went down!

Bouncing back at home to keep the pressure on at the top of the league table was Paris Saint-Germain's goal for this Saturday as they welcomed Lens. Mauricio Pochettino rested a few starters and lined up with Mauro Icardi, Julian Draxler and Pablo Sarabia in his starting line up.

This game was about not taking the impressive promoted side lightly as they were intending on giving everything to keep their 5th place. But our Parisiens started well and quickly pushed forward to put the Lens defence under pressure.

A domination that was shown by multiple dangerous moments: Idrissa Gana Gueye (1'), Mauro Icardi (6', 13') and even Danilo with a powerful header pushed away by Farinez (23'). And it was Neymar Jr who unlocked the game! After Julian Draxler won the ball high up the pitch centrally the n°10 didn't think twice before placing the ball confidently past the Lens  (1-0, 33').

And as the Parisians continued to create chance after chance they still needed to stay concentrated to deny Lens. Keylor Navas had to deny the former Parisian Arnaud Kalimuendo just before the break (42'). The Sang et Or were still dangerous.

The stakes were different for both sides but the end goal was still to win. Both sides put their foot on the gas in the second half! From a Parisian point of view, it was the captain Marquinhos who doubled the lead from a Neymar Jr corner (2-0, 59')... Just before Ganago gave them a scare after a scramble in the box (2-1, 61'). The Rouge et Bleu fought back to increase the lead from a Neymar Jr free kick (67'), and also with Mauro Icardi's offside goal…

They were able to control the game and fight to keep that lead until the end. It's an important win in this crazy title race. A good result ahead of the massive second leg against Manchester City on the other side of the channel.
