Paris and Nuremberg well matched

The key moments
Four days after the 6-1 win over Dynamo Dresden, Thomas Tuchel's men were back in Germany for their second pre-season friendly with second-tier FC Nuremberg their opponents for their final game in Europe before their trip to China.

With the same starting XI as in Dresden, the Rouge-et-Bleu struggled from the off and only a first-minute save from Alphonse Areola prevented them conceding an early goal. The capital club then seized control of the game and created a number of chances through Kylian Mbappé in particular. The Paris number 7 twice struck the woodwork: once on the quarter-hour and then again ten minutes before the break.

The France international didn't give up, and provided the perfect cross for Pablo Sarabia to head home his first goal for the club from close range (0-1, 43'). After the Paris line-up had been completely revamped, Valentini levelled from the spot after a handball by Abdou Diallo (1-1, 71').

A Parisian in the match: Pablo Sarabia
In the starting line-up for the second successive game, the Spanish midfielder produced another convincing performance. A goalscorer from Mbappé's cross, he went off after an hour, like most of the other starters, but had already suggested once again he will have a major impact on Paris' attacking play in the 2019/20 season.

Coming up
In three days, the squad will head off for the China Summer Tour. They'll take part in three games there: against Inter Milan on 27 July, Sydney FC three days later, and then Rennes in the Trophée des Champions on 3 August. The first game of the new Ligue 1 season will be against Nîmes on 11 August at the Parc des Princes.
