Parc des Princes to give its thanks to AP-HP healthcare staff

To mark the club’s return to the Parc des Princes, Paris Saint-Germain has invited more than 400 healthcare providers and staff from Assistance Publique - Hôpitaux de Paris (AP-HP – the French capital’s public hospital system) to attend the friendly matches against Waasland-Beveren on Friday 17 July and Glasgow Celtic on Tuesday 21 July. The initiative is a continuation of the support Paris Saint-Germain has been giving AP-HP since the start of the health crisis.

By way of a thank you, the 200 guests at each match will have the privilege of watching the action from close-up from the Virage Auteuil, a stand usually occupied by the club’s most fervent fans. Designed especially for the occasion, a T-shirt bearing the message “Tous Unis, Merci” (“Together As One, Thank You”) will be handed out to the watching healthcare workers at the end of each match.

Just as they did at the game against Le Havre, the Paris Saint-Germain players will express their gratitude by wearing their “Tous Unis, Merci” training jerseys, while their match shirts will be emblazoned with a badge bearing the same message.

During the course of the health crisis, Paris Saint-Germain and AP-HP have forged close ties and set up some unprecedented initiatives providing support and comfort to front-line healthcare workers. In March the club came up with a limited-edition “Tous Unis” shirt featuring its colours and those of AP-HP. Retailing at €175, the 1,500 shirts sold out fast, with the proceeds going to initiatives helping healthcare personnel tackle the health crisis. These included the delivery of 25,000 fresh, homemade meals to a number of AP-HP hospitals by food truck and the purchase of equipment and furniture for healthcare worker rest areas, such as TVs, speakers and armchairs for relaxing in, the idea being to improve their everyday working lives.

Especially active throughout the health crisis, Paris Saint-Germain will continue to provide support to local and charity actors through the actions of the Paris Saint-Germain Foundation, which has been working with regional, national and international stakeholders for more than 20 years now.
