Pablo Sarabia: 'The Champions League is a magnificent competition'

The Spain international cannot wait to face Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League Last 16 this week.

After going through the group stage unbeaten, Paris Saint-Germain restart their UEFA Champions League challenge at Dortmund on Tuesday in the first leg of their Last 16 tie.

Pablo Sarabia, who scored in the final group game against Galatasaray, and also equalised at the Santiago Bernabeu against his former club, Real Madrid, cannot contain his excitement at the return of continental competition.

"The Champions League is a magnificent competition, different to all the others. The biggest clubs in the world play in it," he told us.

Up against Dortmund, third in the Bundesliga, the Paris number 19 is on high alert: "We're going to try to qualify against Dortmund, but they're a great team, and especially dangerous on the counter-attack. They score a lot of goals."

Will he change his preparation before such a big game?

"No, I'll prepare in the same way as for the other games. I'll keep the same habits. I do think I'll feel more pressure," he said.

"I'm very happy with the work I do here. I get on well with everyone, my teammates, the supporters...All you can wish for me is to win as many trophies as possible. That's my mentality, and that's the best thing I can do here," he said.
