Pablo Sarabia: "A difficult time but we must stay at home"

The Paris Saint-Germain midfielder outlined his daily life during this time of confinement.

Since the start of the COVID-19 health crisis, all of Paris Saint-Germain's sportspeople have seen their daily routine shaken up. Despite a personalised programme concocted by the club, confinement is something new for Thomas Tuchel's players, as Pablo Sarabia told us: "I'm trying to do a lot of things to pass the time. I need to cook, play table tennis, do sport at home... I'm also studying French. It's a difficult time but we must all stay at home."

The Spanish international has adapted to his new life in Paris and it has shown on the field. The Madrid man has very good stats for his first season at the capital club, with no fewer than 16 goals and 5 assists in all competitions. He's netted 7 goals in 5 Coupe de France matches, a record in Paris Saint-Germain history: "It's a very special competition and things have gone very well! I've been able to play in every game and score every time. It means I've gone into Paris Saint-Germain history. It's something extraordinary, something I'm very proud of. I've played a number of positions, attacker, right wing or left wing... everywhere on the pitch. The coach thought it was the best thing to do."

That versatility allows him to get between the lines and he's proved himself to be clinical in front of goal: "I think getting between the lines to score is one of my qualities. It's true that we often work on finishing. I always try to follow yp and come from deep because I know how difficult it is for defenders to cover that zone."

While having shone this season in the Coupe de France, Pablo Sarabia has enjoyed great moments with PSG in other competitions too. He has a special place in his heart for the goal he scored at Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League: "My goal against Real Madrid at the Santiago-Bernabéu was special for me on all levels. We didn't play well but we managed to snatch the draw on a difficult pitch. The goal was also very special for me because I came through the youth system there."
