Paris to face Marseille in the Coupe de France Last 16

There will be a Classique clash in the next round of the Coupe de France on 7/8 February.

Fourteen-time winners of the competition (1982, 1983, 1993, 1995, 1998, 2004, 2006, 2010, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2020 & 2021, a national record) and through to the Last 16 after wins over Berrichonne de Châteauroux (3-1, N1) and 7-0 vs. US Pays de Cassel (R1), the Ligue 1 leaders head to the side currently in third in the top-flight table. OM have won the Coupe de France ten times (1924, 1926, 1927, 1935, 1938, 1943, 1969, 1972, 1976 & 1989), and they made it through by beating Hyères (N2) 2-0 and Stade Rennais FC (1-0).

Marseille are the most frequent opponents of the Parisians in the competition, but have only prevailed once in 11 meetings (2-2 and 2-0 in the 1974/75 quarter-finals, 1-0 and 3-1 in the 1981/82 Last 16, 0-2 in the 1990/91 Last 16, 2-0 in the 1994/95 semi-finals, 1-1 a.e.t., 7-6 on pens in the 2001/02 Last16, 2-1 a.e.t. in the 2002/03 Last 32, 2-1 a.e.t. in the 2003/04 Last 32, 2-1 in the 2005/06 final, 2-0 in the 2012/13 Last 16, 4-2 in the 2015/16 final, and 3-0 in the 2017/18 quarter-finals).

Parisians and Marseillais have already played this season with the Rouge et Bleu winning 1-0 at the Parc des Princes on 16 October thanks to a goal from Neymar Jr (45+2'). They'll meet for the third time on Matchday 25 on Sunday 26 February at 8:45pm at the Orange Vélodrome.
