Number crunch: Red Star Belgrade vs. Paris Saint-Germain

UEFA Champions League action returns this week as Paris travel to Belgrade for the final round of fixtures in Group C. There is all to play for with three teams chasing qualification to the next round of the competition. Here's what you need to know about the game in Serbia!

The two teams have met just once before, earlier in this season's campaign, a game Paris won comprehensively in France, winning 6-1 on match day two of the competition. The scoreline wasn't the only extraordinary feat of the three points, Les Rouge et Bleu beat another European record that night, managing a staggering 17 shots on target. The record had previously been set by Bayern Munich as far back as October 2013.

Though Paris Saint-Germain will go into the game in a confident mood after a convincing performance against Liverpool in the last round, they will have to be wary of a Red Star side that have conceded just one goal in their last eight European matches at home. Additionally, the Serbian club have lost just one of their last 15 European home games (W8, D6, L1) and are unbeaten in eight games.

It is truly the unstoppable force against the immovable object in Belgrade, as the team with a rock-solid defence will take on the second highest scorers in the UEFA Champions League. Kylian Mbappé will buoyed by his impressive European away goal record, with 67% of his goals coming on the road.

Tomorrow evening will be a tough encounter for Thomas Tuchel's side, with both Napoli and Liverpool knowing they need victory to keep alive their hopes of qualification in the other game in the group. Paris will have to avoid loss in Belgrade to ensure they progress to the knock-out stages for the seventh consecutive season.
