Neymar Jr equals Bianchi and Mbappé's record

With a goal against Monaco on Wednesday, Neymar Jr equalled a record that is held by Kylian Mbappé and Carlos Bianchi.

Aside from Paris' victory over Monaco on Wednesday (1-4), which extends the club from the capital's lead at the top of the league table, Neymar Jr also made the most of the match to enter the record books.

The Brazilian forward, who got the second Paris goal (0-2, 45+2') after Kylian Mbappé had taken the lead (0-1, 24e), and an assist for the French youngster for the final goal of the match (1-4, 91'), also took his place amongst a very prestigious group of players.

Last week, the number 7 had scored a goal in his eighth consecutive match, equalling a record held by Carlos Bianchi for nearly 40 years (8 matches with at least one goal during the 1978-1979 season). This time, it was Neymar Jr's turn to secure the same record, after finding the back of the net in his last eight matches (Nantes, Montpellier, Galatasaray, Saint-Étienne, Amiens, Saint-Étienne, Monaco and Monaco once more).

The Paris n°10 has now been involved in 20 goals this season (13 goals and seven assists) in 15 matches in all competitions.
