Nenê: "The best moments of my career"

Nene, what do you feel when you get the chance to come back here to the Parc des Princes, a stadium where you shone ?
"It makes me very happy. I spent marvellous moments here. They were the best moments of my career. It's incredible to see the respect and the admiration that people still have for me even though I left the club several years ago. I'm delighted whenever I'm able to come back to the Parc des Princes."

There's a long tradition of Brazilian players at Paris Saint-Germain…
"I'm very proud of the history that unites PSG and Brazil, it's almost like a marriage. That said, there are quite a number of differences between the way of life in the two countries. At the stadium, supporters want to be entertained, they want to be happy and see magnificent things, things that make them dream.When people say that we have made that happen, it's incredible... I think that Brazilian players and the Parisian fans are made for each other."

You wore the number 10 here in Paris, now it's Neymar Jr who wears the shirt. What does it mean to you to see such a player wear that shirt?
"It's really beautiful to see a player like Neymar here in Paris. He's also an incredible person. He's a friend and he has an immense heart. He's a competitor and that's what we have in common. We want to play in and win every match. We want to do things in the best manner possible, win, score goals, and provide entertainment. He has unique potential. It's great and I'm really happy for him. I hope he marks the history of the club."

What memories do you have of your first game for the club?
"I quickly felt at ease, it was as if I'd been here a long time already. I scored a goal, a beautiful goal actually! I controlled the ball on my chest and then got my shot away. I think we won 3-1 againstSaint-Etienne (07/08/2010). I have very good memories of my first match here."

What was your best goal?
"I scored several beautiful goals here. I remember a match against Valenciennes (2-1, 11/12/2010) when I scored a really lovely goal. It was a difficult match and I opened the scoring before they equalised. I ended up winning the game for us with a beautiful shot from range that went in the top corner. I don't remember why but I was angry after the goal (laughs). During the celebrations Papus (Camara) came to give me a kiss and said 'hey! what's going on here' and I didn't even know why I was upset (laughs)."

"Yes, that's true! Notably against Monaco at the Parc (2-2, 18/12/2010) in the snow and also in the Europa League ! »
