Meunier: 'Give it everything, every match'

Paris Saint-Germain defender Thomas Meunier spoke to PSG TV about Friday's opening match of Week 10 of the Ligue 1 season away to OGC Nice:

Thomas, how is the squad feeling ahead of the Nice game, straight after the international break?

"Backing up matches is the hardest thing. Most of the squad played two matches with their national teams during the break and this match against Nice is also coming just before the Champions League trip to Bruges. Nice have a very good team ad are in good form. We can't afford to think about next Tuesday's game, we have to focus on Nice, give it everything, every match. We have a quality squad and we just have to try and do our best."

Nice have a new owner and want to become a power in French football...

"In the long term, they could become a big player, as could Bordeaux who also have new owners. It's important for the French league that we attract these big foreign investors. Like in England, it will allow the league to develop a strong top 6 and each year they will grow stronger and get results in France and in Europe."

What do you think about Youcef Atal, a right-back like you, but who is suspended for the match?

"He is a very good player and it's a shame he got injured in the final of the Africa Cup of Nations and that he's suspended for this match. He is young, technical and dynamic. I consider him more of an attacker than a full-back. He is a complete player, a very good player."
