Maxwell: ‘A great opportunity’
In Singapore to announce Paris Saint-Germain’s participation in the International Champions Cup 2018, Maxwell answered questions from the local media on Wednesday.
The day after the press conference organised by the ICC at the Art and Science Museum of Singapore, Maxwell, Robert Pirès (ambassador of Arsenal) and José Luis Perez Caminero (Atletico Madrid technical director) headed to the Mediacorp offices to answer do interviews with the local media.
Robert Pires and Maxwell took part in the live television show ‘First Look Asia’ before the Paris Saint-Germain sporting co-ordinator spoke to 938 Now and 987 radio stations. Before the three guests took part in a competition tasting various local delicacies.
Maxwell has clearly been won over and is looking forward to returning to Singapore with the rest of the Paris Saint-Germain squad next July: “We have a lot of supporters here in Asia. We are really very happy to be coming back here to spend some time with them next summer; it’s a great opportunity. We will also be taking two great sides. We hope to provide lots of entertainment and launch an exciting season here in Singapore.”
The local media is also looking forward to the visit of the freshly crowned French champions: “It’s a great honour for the people of Singapore to host Paris Saint-Germain,” confirmed Jun Tan, journalist for JunpiterFutbol. “Everyone can’t wait to see these great players playing in our city.”
