Mauricio Pochettino: 'We're really attached to this cup'

The Paris Saint-Germain coach talked to the media ahead of Wednesday's Coupe de France quarter-final tie with Angers.

ANGERS

"The Coupe de France is a special competition for the Parisians, for the players and the club. We're really attached to this competition. We know Angers won't be easy opponents, but we want to reach the semi-finals, and we know we'll have to play well. We'll have to make a few adjustments compared to the game against Saint-Etienne."

MBAPPE & VERRATTI

"We hope Kylian will be able to continue in the same way through to the end of the season. He's in great form, all the better for the team. Marco has had COVID, was injured on international duty, and took a blow recently...we'll have to handle him carefully so that he'll be 100% available soon and that he can help us fully."

THE PLAYERS' FITNESS

"With the medical and performance staff, we work in a big way to ensure each player gets the best preparation possible, and that they improve as best they can. I'm happy with the work done so far, I think the team is in form, despite the circumstances."

THE PRESSURE

"The biggest pressure is that which we place on ourselves from the inside. External pressure cannot affect us positively, so we have to focus on ourselves, our ambitions and the demands that we have as a squad."

THE WIN VS. SAINT-ETIENNE

"The atmosphere has always been good since I arrived, but the win over Saint-Etienne gave the squad an extra boost of energy. The club is set up very well to be able to work in the best conditions. We win and we lose, that's part of the game, and we want to perform as well as we can, but we have very good conditions in which to do something great."
