Mauricio Pochettino: "We need to keep the same mindset"

On the eve of the Matchday 24 encounter against Rennes in Ligue 1 this Friday at 21:00 CET at the Parc des Princes, the Paris Saint-Germain manager answered questions from PSG TV and the media. Here are some extracts.

ON RENNES

"They're a team with some very good players and a very good manager. They're a young squad with some huge talents. It'll be a competitive game, just like every Ligue 1 game is. It won't be easy, so we'll need to be at 100% to avoid any slip-ups."

ON THE TEAM'S MINDSET

"We need to keep the same mindset. It's very important for us to keep up our momentum. We played very well against Lille, and tomorrow, we'll be playing against a very good Rennes side. We're focused solely on tomorrow's game. We always want to improve, but our task is to stay focused on tomorrow's game."

ON THE NEXT FEW MATCHES

"Football is about sensations. In order to prepare for a top-level game, it's important for those sensations to be positive. We need to stay focused on tomorrow's game in order to put in a good performance and to go into Tuesday's game in the best possible conditions. We're trying to improve every day, but it's not an exact science. That's why it can take some time, but we're happy with our progress. We're heading into a key month. Against Lille, the team's energy was very good. That's a good sign going into our next few matches."

ON THE RETURN OF THE FANS

"We're very happy to have our fans back! It's great that they're back at the Parc des Princes to support us. Their support for the team and for the club is incredible. It'll be a fantastic reunion."

ON Kylian Mbappé

"Kylian can play in any position along the front line. We can't confine him to just one position, as he needs freedom out on the pitch. As a team of coaching staff, we like giving our players freedom."

ON DANILO pereira

"Often, when a midfielder scores goals, people focus on the attacking side of things. He's got into some good areas, but he's also an important player for the team's defensive balance. He contributes a lot in a physical and athletic sense. I'm very happy for him."
