Mauricio Pochettino: 'The spirit is good'

The Paris Saint-Germain coach says the mood in the camp is buoyant ahead of Saturday's league game against Strasbourg.

THE SPIRIT

"The win in Munich has given us a lot of confidence. The team is feeling good, but there is not much time between the two matches, before Strasbourg. But the spirit is good. There are lot of players missing, that makes things more difficult, but we're full of optimism and confidence."

STRASBOURG

"They're a physical team, but we have to be careful and put out the freshest possible team to be able to meet the challenge. We're still in three competitions, which is something that takes a lot of energy of not only the players but also the technical staff and medical staff. We have to think about a strategy that will enable us to perform to our best. We'll have to do the same thing against Strasbourg to be able to meet the physical and tactical challenge."

IDRISSA GUEYE

"He's a player that we already knew in England when he was at Everton. We're not surprised by his contribution to the team or his quality. He's a very professional player who handles himself very well in training. We're happy with what he brings to the team."

CONSISTENCY

"It's normal that there's still inconsistency after only three months. Consistency has to be judged on an entire season, and our work is to optimise the team's structure, a team that has to be managed in terms of its physical shape. We work to do that as best we can, and to get results, because here we also have  to get results. We can't use fatigue as an excuse, but it's also a reality. We have to do our best through to the end of the season."

PRESNEL KIMPEMBE

"I think the team showed a lot of unity against Munich, everyone had a great attitude, and that was also the case for Presnel. For tomorrow, we still have 24 hours to decide who'll play. We'll announce the starting XI to the players tomorrow morning, but we have to take into account the physical factor for a match against a team that has a big physical impact."
