Match postponed between Paris and Basaksehir

The final UEFA Champions League group phase match between Paris Saint-Germain and Istanbul Basaksehir on Tuesday evening was interrupted after 13 minutes of play following racist remarks by the fourth official to a member of the Basaksehir club staff. The match will be replayed on Wednesday at 18:55.

It was an off-pitch issue that stopped the match after just 13 minutes of play. A complaint from the Basaksehir bench after racist remarks by the fourth official were followed by a coming-together of all 22 players pitch-side. All forms of racism go against the values held by Paris Saint-Germain and the club’s Chairman, staff and players.

After 10 minutes of explanation, the referee invited both teams to return to their respective changing rooms. An hour and a half after the interruption, UEFA decided to officially end the match, which will be replayed on Wednesday at 18:55.

For more than 15 years Paris Saint-Germain has led the fight against discrimination and continues to work to eradicate it in all forms. The capital club is today one of the most committed sports clubs striving to end all forms of violence and discrimination.
