Marquinhos celebrates his 400th match in Rouge et Bleu!
Once again starting and captaining Paris Saint-Germain in Nice on Saturday 8 April at the Allianz Riviera on Matchday 30e of Ligue 1, Marquinhos took one step closer to making history as part of an almost 10-year story with the club from the capital.
Against Les Aiglons, the Paris Saint-Germain centre back made his 400th competitive outing for the club. He also takes another step closer to the all-time record holder of Paris Saint-Germain appearances, which is held by no other than Jean-Marc Pilorget (435 matches).
Arriving in Paris in July 2013, the Brazil international now boasts 262 Ligue 1 appearances (24 goals), 31 in the Coupe de France (3 goals), 20 in the Coupe de la Ligue (2 goals), 6 in the Trophées des Champions and 81 in the UEFA Champions League (9 goals) for Les Rouge et Bleu.
With his teammate Marco Verratti, Marquinhos is one of the most successful players in the history of the club with 27 trophies to his name: 7 x Champions of France (2014, 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2022), 6 x winners of the Coupe de France (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2020 and 2021), 6 x winners of the Coupe de la Ligue (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2020), and 8 x winners of the Trophée des Champions (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2022).
400 outings to date since making his debut over Olympiakos in the UEFA Champions League (1-4, on 17/09/2013), just a few days before making his league debut when AS Monaco travelled to the Parc des Princes (1-1, on 22/09/2013).
The opposition Marquinhos has faced the most for the club is AS Saint-Etienne (21 matches), ahead of Olympique de Marseille and Stade Rennais FC (20 matches).
His best record is also against Les Verts, with a total of 17 wins and 4 draws, with no defeats! Marseille have only beaten Paris Saint-Germain once when the Brazilian rock is on the pitch.
Captain Marqui' recently celebrated his 100th competitive match as Paris captain. His first was 15 February 2022, with a prestigious 1-0 victory over Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League at the Parc des Princes.
There is now only Marco Verratti (409 matches played from 2012 to date) and Jean-Marc Pilorget (435 matches played from 1975 to 1989) ahead of Marquinhos in the club's all-time rankings for most appearances.
