In playing his 380th match in all competitions for the club from the capital on Matchday 1 of Ligue 1 in the 5-0 victory over Clermont on Saturday 6 August at the Stade Gabriel Montpied, Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti equalled Sylvain Armand's spot in second place of the rankings for the most appearances in Rouge et Bleu.

Arriving in Paris in 2012, the Italian international has played 248 Ligue 1 matches (7 goals, 38 assists), 28 in the Coupe de France (1 goal, 7 assists), 23 in the Coupe de la Ligue (3 assists), 9 TrophΓ©es des Champions and 72 in the UEFA Champions League (3 goals, 8 assists) with the club from the capital.Β 

Interestingly enough, the Pescara-born midfielder equalled his former teammate's record during this match at Clermont, the club where the former Rouge et Bleu full-back (2004-2013) played during the 1999-2000 season.
