Manchester, we have arrived!
Paris Saint-Germain travelled to Manchester on Monday on the eve of the first leg of their UEFA Champions League last-16 tie against United at 21:00 CET on Tuesday at Old Trafford.
Two days after recording their 19th win in 22 Ligue 1 matches this season, a 1-0 victory over Bordeaux at the Parc des Princes, the capital club jetted across the Channel, wearing the latest clothes from the Paris Saint-Germain x Jordan collection (now available at the club’s online shop).
The players left from the Parc des Princes and the Ooredoo Training Centre to meet at the Charles-de-Gaulle airport just north of the French capital at 10am. Then it was onto the specially chartered flight to Manchester. Taking off around 11:45am, for the 90-minute trip, the players slept, watched films, played games or read to pass the time, before touching down at 12:15pm local time (13:15 in France) where the local fans were out in force.
Thomas Tuchel and his playing squad then headed straight to the team hotel, their home for the next 48 hours, where they had lunch before benefitting from some free time. Later this afternoon, Paris’ German coach Tuchel and compatriot Julian Draxler will face the media at the traditional pre-match press conference at Old Trafford (that you can watch live on PSG.FR and PSG TV from 17:45 CET).
Then the rest of the squad will join them on the pitch at the Theatre of Dreams for one final training session before Tuesday evening’s match…
